Langdale Pikes

The distinctive profile of the Langdale Pikes is instantly recognisable in any view and this rugged group of mountains offers a variety of walks to suit all tastes, from a gentle climb to Stickle Tarn to a full-scale scramble up Pavey Ark. If ancient history interests you, a “stone axe factory” on the scree slopes beneath Pike O’Stickle once exported flint axes far and wide in the Neolithic period. Do bear in mind that car parking can be difficult and expensive, especially in the height of the summer tourist season.
